Eye on the Desert

If you hadn't seen already from Facebook, I am going to be featured on Eye on the Desert (KPSP Local 2). I am really excited for this opportunity. I really think that this series is great for all ages; for those that have been in the legal field for years and even those that are just starting. It's almost like a learning tool. I don't know when it will be aired that night, but I will be sure to post a link on on my sites so you all can see it.

I've been trying my best to keep up on the world of book news, and I must say it's so hard to keep track sometimes. One week Barnes and Noble is dominating, the next they are for sale. One week, Kindle revolutionizes reading, the next week they are already coming out with new technology. Like I said, hard to keep up. It makes me wonder about the future of book publishing in general. Now I know I have seen this question in every top headline for about two years now, but I still don't think I have found a solid answer.

And that's okay.

Why do we need a definitive answer to something that is supposed to be continually evolving? Just look at how the printing press changed the world when it became commercialized globally. While the value of the actual written word is great to me, I think that regardless of how the delivery happens, people are still reading. And, quite possibly, more people are reading now that access is becoming more and more easy. This is just another phase of human development that will eventually fade and become old news.

I still have my paperback sitting on my night table next to me and maybe you have your e-reader, but we are still going to bed with the sound of a story ringing in our ears.
